NO. 
Most civilians don’t know the proper way of not cross contaminating. 
I’ve seen so many people wearing masks and gloves but they’re touching EVERYTHING! If I wear gloves in the store for protection why would I swipe the hair out of my face? Push my glasses back? Touch my steering wheel? Touch my phone? 
If it comes down to it, I’ll wipe everything down like i have been and backtrack, but no. 
And then I’ve seen people improperly remove their gloves completely defeating the purpose of them to begin with 😭
Also look up videos of nurses and doctors suiting up for Covid patients. There are LAYERS AND LAYERS to the point some have to use TRASH BAGS!

Yes, masks do prevent infection. The public should wear masks. The nonessential about them being ineffective is basically propaganda. Of course they work. But save the n95s for healthcare workers. Make one, wear a woodworking or painting respirator with a filter. Homemade masks do not provide the same protection at all, but they might help somewhat. Especially since this spreads when people are asymptomatic. If it spreads when people are asymptomatic, every person should wear a mask when out in public.

No. And it's been stated time and time again that if you AREN'T sick you shouldn't be wearing a mask. They are not properly fitted (such as health professionals) and don't protect you. 
And as another comment states most people aren't aware of cross contamination. They are touching everything the same way as usual. They aren't removing gloves properly. They likely aren't washing hands properly (including under nails and up to elbows, wrist at bare minimum.) They likely aren't sanitizing every single thing they come into contact with (how many people have touched the same package at the store that you now have inside your house?) I could go all day. Even as far as lysoling the bottom of your shoes before getting into your car after walking around. 
By no means am I a health care/medical professional. Just a major germaphobe on the best of days. X10 these days.

It depends, the N95s are the only ones that are effective but not necessarily on their own. You have to pair it with protective eye wear too.  Most doctors are wearing full face shields overtop yet. Personally I wouldn’t bother with one.  Also it’s better to just wash or sanitize your hands rather than wearing gloves.

If you are going to be in close proximity of people and want to feel safe use one, read up on how to properly use to limit a little bit of a possibility of getting the Coronavirus. I wear a mask when I go out, IDC people don't practice safe hygene, so I will continue to use a face mask when I go out. If YOU want to wear one it is your choice!
