Do you agree that online courses are the same as actual classes and we should not get at least some kind of refund?

If they’re not “online” courses then what are they? We are taking courses online.

They're kinda the same but you're still paying the professor to teach that class. You're still paying the custodian to clean the building that the class would be in (they're summer/deep cleaning that building) you're still paying for IT services, you're still paying every service that goes into going to college.

Most of my professors don’t even do online lectures. All they do is upload assignments with instructions on what they want.

I say give atleast 1/3 or 1/2 refund because a lot of student don't have laptops and a lot of libraries are closed right now.

Depends on the classes. Switching to online/e-learning has tripled my workload and most professors don’t even give a fuck and aren’t uploading anything at all. I’d be pissed if I had paid any money for this semester and we have an organisation here responsible for advocating for students and they’re trying to get the universities to at least do a partial refund for those that have paid any fees.

At my schools in-person and online classes cost the same. Only reason for a refund imo is a lab course. Or an internship, my sister can’t do her internship anymore but it’s a 3-credit course.

To me online is not the same as physically being there and in a classroom. Some of us learn best by physically being there, along with the accountability of a participation grade and showing up to class. I understand the circumstances but I would drown in those circumstances.

I do not believe you should get a refund. I can’t believe anyone is fighting for that right now. The schools are doing what they can during a pandemic and still allowing you to finish your classes or graduate. Could be so much worse.

It actually costs more to take online classes. At least where I am it does. It’s an extra $50 per class I take online compared to in-class experiences. I’ve been 100% online since 2016 besides two classes that didn’t offer online services. Online students should be receiving the refund lol jk.
