Birth Control

Hi ladies! I just wanted to post this as a little guide to the pill, because one type of pill is not like the other :)

Combination pill: Combination pill is nice because you SHOULD be taking it at the same time every day for max protection, but luckily you can take it within any 12 hour period and theoretically still be protected. If you forget a pill, take it as soon as possible, but you do not need a backup birth control method (note: this is if you only miss one pill).

Mini Pill: Mini pill is a little trickier. With this one you NEED to take it at the same time every day. The protection window is much smaller, with it being only within three hours you should be protected. Even then, your protection is decreased. If you forget the pill completely, take it as soon as you remember and use a backup birth control method for 2 days.

Hopes this helps women that are concerned with when to take their pill and when “late” is actually late!
