How does God want us to marry?

I’m wondering how does God want us to marry. My bf and I cant afford a fancy church wedding 😕. What are our options and is it ok with God. Sorry I’m new to all this 😁.

You don't need a fancy wedding. As long as you are getting married and taking vows under the Lord you are fine. God doesn't care about fancy weddings. Remember, the wedding day is only for one day while marriage is for the rest of your life. So the focus should be on having a Christ centered marriage, not a wedding day. He ultimately wants you to be holy, not happy. Therefore, getting married is a holy and godly thing to do (assuming you both are Christians). It doesn't matter where it is, God is omnipresent.

Is your relationship honoring to God? 
There is nothing wrong with having a small wedding. There is no reason you have to have a fancy church wedding.  Whereever two or three are gather in His name he will be there with them. You can have a small backyard wedding and if your desired is to please God and you are walking in accordance to his word he will be there with you.

I don't think church wedding really cost anything? We paid a 400 dollar donation to the church, which was not required if we couldn't afford it (but we could, so we paid). It's the dinner that costs a lot of money. And the dress / photography. Obviously you need to wear clothes, but you don't need anything fancy. And everything else isn't necessary. Have the kind of wedding you want / can afford and don't worry about anything else :)

Some do courts and some ppl have their pastor to come to their house. It doesn't matter as long as you getting married.

A small gathering, is just fine. I know a couple who just married at the end of a church service and shared the wedding cake with the congregation after in the church hall . Another couple who did similarly but Had the use of the church another day, No real expenses, no venue cost, both sewed their own dress and one freind didn't even make a wedding dress, as she wanted one she could wear other times too and both just had garden flowers.
I fact I read in the news that due to the virus weddings would be the very minimum number of people anyway. 
Our wedding wasn't tiny but we kept costs down, we had an non professional Photographer, a friend did the cake and my mum made the dresses, we did flowers ourselves too.
