I’m 23 and been with a white man for 4 years now. I love him so much but my family is not accepting of dating in general but I do hope that this will work out bc he is an amazing person and I know my parents would get along with him and his parents once they get over the whole different religions aspect, I’m Sikh and he’s christian. His family is definitely accepting and have a lot of respect for sikhs and I know my family has a lot of respect for Christian’s and well any religion, I went to a Christian school from grade 1 to 12. But I’ve been hiding this relationship from my parents the whole time ... I want to marry this man, not right away, I want us to both be working first because obviously for financial security and as of right now we are both still full time students.

Anyone been in a similar situation? And did it work out?

My plan is to tell them once I’m in medical school or another secure graduate program because their whole thing is that school comes first, they don’t care so much as the field, as long as I’m happy and working towards my full potential.
