Thinking of losing my virginity

Hey ladies I’m currently 17 (I will be 18 this September) and I’m dating my best friend and he is amazing however we’re going through a rough patch rn and I keep thinking that maybe we should just be best friends again. He’s my first kiss my first a lot of things and I saved those things for someone really special and I don’t regret anything we’ve done and idk I still want to give him all of me and I know that no matter what happens between us we will always be best friends but what I’m worried about is that if we do have sex and decide to just be best friends again once one of us starts dating again will our new partner allow us to stay friends.

(We’ve been best friends for so long and I love him I’m an overthinker and always plan for the worse so idk this is what I’m thinking rn so any tips ladies) also please don’t slut shame me or anything I’ve already beat myself up about it a lot I grew up really religiously but I’m happy with my decisions so please just constructive thoughts!
