¿Masturbation?

Hi, I’ve been growing up and discovering a lot of things that I don’t exactly understand. Somethings that health class didn’t cover like masturbation. I don’t exactly understand the concept of how each gender does it, especially women. I know men and women can do it but what exactly happens when they do it? I guess am asking what happens down there when each gender masturbates. Ik this is a very uncomfortable topic to talk about but am hoping someone will be brave or great enough to help me understand this because I don’t want to ask my family about it. It will be more uncomfortable there so anyone please?
