Saved a dog?

So basically my husband bought my dogs(my baby) last year for my birthday. I saw him at the pet store and he looked very sick and Ill 😷. I just want to add as soon as I saw my poor corgi he looked like he was about to die I just couldn’t leave him at the store(he pooped blood everyday for 3 weeks and he was in and out of the veterinarian for majority of those 3 weeks so I know for sure he would’ve died in the pet store)Even though my original plan was to get a dog from a shelter my husband told me it was probably a bad idea because we have kids. Every time I take him to petco💕, people tell me how even though we bought it from a store I “rescued a dog”. I don’t feel this way and I always tell people not to use that term because a lot of families do get dogs from a shelter they’re who rescue dogs. Am I wrong? I don’t want to offend people but I don’t think it’s fair to use the term rescue idk 🤷🏻‍♀️.
