Is it normal for my almost two year old to hold his breath while crying, and eventually passing out?

Today my two year old passed out for the first time while doing this. Any advice?

Yep. It's common. Try blowing in their face the next time they do this. It's been known to help force them to take a breath. I agree with the previous response though. Don't give in!

Yeah it is. Hes throwing a tantrum to get his waym its common and does happen. Hes throwing a tantrum to get his way so dont give into his tantrums

My cousin did this...we would either blow in her face or flick a little cold water in her face...it would surprise her enough to breathe again and ussually distract her from whatever the tantrum was about.

I blow in her mouth and she starts breathing again 🙈 so she's never passed out

Sounds like he’s throwing a tantrum. Consult your pediatrician if your concerned, but I’m sure there are plenty of things you can do to gently remind them to breathe.
