Membrane stripping at 38 weeks...already 6cm!!

Had my 38 week appointment today. Been 4.5-5cm for a week. Dr was able to stretch me to 6cm AND strip my membranes. It hurt like hell tbh!!

Was wondering if any of you ladies could tell me your experience with getting your membranes swept and if you were already a 6 or more when they did it and if that made a difference.

Did u go into labor soon after?

Does it working all depend on how “ready” your cervix is or does that have anything to do with it?

I’m hoping I go this weekend after getting that done!

UPDATE: had my bloody show this AM. 24 hours after the sweep. Any experience with going into labor after that? How soon after I mean...?
