So my dad got diagnosed with Parkinson’s around the time I found out I was pregnant. We spent so much time wondering what baby would be like (he knew it was a girl) and talking about how healing a new baby would be for him.
It’s been awful not to put my beautiful girl in his arms. I watch from behind a glass door as he makes brief visits. He stumbles a bit and slurs his words.
I just hope he gets to meet and hold his granddaughter.
