What are your kids working on these days?

Wanted to see what your almost 3 year olds are working on.  What do they know already? What things will you be working towards learning soon?

I agree with the other comment, I don't specifically sit down to "teach" a specific thing. But through play my daughter has learned letters uppercase and lowercase, many shapes, all colors, numbers 1-20, and she knows how to draw things like basic faces and snowmen, mainly things made from circle or banana shapes. 
She doesn't know how to write letters or read words, although she will tell stories based off the pictures and from memory. I'm not planning on teaching that until she seems interested more or around 4-5. Honestly going into kindergarten, the expectations aren't very high. 
Only going into detail in case you were curious of what our kids know as well meaning the answer "we don't teach" isn't helping with your question completely 😅😉

We aren’t actively “working” on anything but rather just embracing learning opportunities as they come. 
The only thing I plan to actually “teach” her soon is phonemic awareness (the sounds the letters make). We have talked about some of the letters in her name and the sounds they make, but that’s it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I am in no rush. She is learning through play, learning through the books she loves and the nursery rhymes we sing, etc. ❤️

My son is also absorbing information like crazy right now and seems very interested in learning new things. I agree with learning through play but I needed more of a direction to go in to help my son continue to learn new things.  I started with the letter A.  I find activities/crafts/and games that fall under the letter of the week.  For instance- A we did apple art and counting. Talked about how apples grow, made apple pie. We made alligators and talked about where they lived. We made alphabet soup, colored the letter A with dot paint/ coloring pages.  We did these activities through the week and there was never any thing forced. My son looks forward to the new letters of the week and the activities I have planned. It's been helpful for a little more guidance for me as well as specific learning for him. He never feels overwhelmed... everything is typically fun for him! We have lots of non guided play throughout the day as well. He has even helped plan his activities for the week and asks to learn about specific things.

We don't "teach" a lot but I think we need to start. My daughter seems to pick up stuff super quickly when we talk about it frequently, she went from not really knowing any colors to knowing pretty much all of them, learned the ABC song in a few minutes, and out of basically nowhere can count to 20. I worry that we're not challenging her enough if we don't teach, she's clearly got the ability to grasp things if they're presented to her. I'm not going to go super hardcore on any of it, but I do want to put a little more attention now into the letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Reading and writing I don't think we're there yet, but she's memorizing her books so I think that's a start.

We read a lot and have numbers and letter boards. She knows her ABCS, colors, numbers 1-20, shapes. Can spell her first and last name. We plan on homeschooling. We too are working on letter sounds. Not everything is traditional
Learning. We try to make it fun. IE Like we make shapes and numbers with play Doha

My son figured out shapes/colors super early, I think he was just very into it. He loved colors and had to announce what every single thing was. Now he’s more into numbers and letters, he can recognize 1-10 and A-Z, count 1-20 and say his ABCs. I’ve noticed if he really shows interest in something I take advantage of that because he’s even more of a sponge and gets it quick lol
