What would you do

When you go into labor alone, what do you do? My fiance works about an hour away... would I wait for him, call an ambulance? Calling an ambulance seeings extreme but would i be able to wait over an hour for a ride?

With my first I noticed contractions around 9 pm and went to the hospital at 3 am ( later than I should have as I was already 7cm when I got admitted) but you should have time to call him and get him home before you need to go in. I let my husband sleep while I was laboring at home.

My water broke when hubs was at work, I just called him and he came home. Gave me time to pack! You have time it won’t be spontaneous!

It is rarely like in the movies where your water breaks or a contraction hits and you have to rush to the hospital. For the average woman it takes hours, especially if this is your first. You should have plenty of time to contact your husband, gather your things, and drive to the hospital.

As previous poster said, you’ll very likely have time to call your husband and him get home. If while he was still on his way home, things did speed up, keep in touch with your maternity unit and they’ll advise whether they think you need to come in based on the timings of your constructions and the pain you’re in. 
If you did have to get to the hospital without your husband, at least he could re-route and hopefully meet you there?

I’m in same position !! My partner works an hour away ... I don’t have a plan 😬

Thought about driving myself - it’s a 5 min drive to hospital 🙊 but I think I’ll just panic dial people at the time

Is this your first? If so- I would call your husband right when you begin having consistent contractions// they hurt and feel different from the simple period cramps. 
Each labor is different so it’s hard to say how long you have- I know from my first experience I labored at home for 2 hours then had another 16 hours at the hospital haha
