Night feedings?

Question

My baby boy is 6 months old and everyone is pushing me to stop feeding him at night because “he wakes up out of habit” rather than hunger. I’m into gentle and responsive parenting and I don’t know how comfortable I feel with that. I think that if he’s asking to eat he should be fed. I let him lead. I don’t care about waking up at night a few times. Please help me, I don’t know what to do.

If it's not a problem for you to comfort your child all night, then who cares what others think?

My daughter was 2 before I really pushed her to sleep through the night. She’d wake up and just want a quick cuddle and a drink. And she still has some nights where she wakes up. 
My sons 6 months and wakes up twice a night usually. I’m working on his sleep but definitely not pushing it very much either.

My 15 month old still wakes at least once a night to nurse. It’s fine. They’re growing. And I know your baby is older but it helps against SIDS if they’re waking to nurse. Do what’s right for you and tell the rest to mind their own tits

Don't listen to anyone else. It's your decision. My son used to do the exact same way & I just stopped breastfeeding him 4 days ago. He's 15 months & has been sleeping throughout the night without waking up. I'm glad he does but I waited 15 months because I felt like he should stop breastfeeding by the age of 2.

My 3 month old sleeps through the night already, but he did that on his own. There was no training of any sort involved. If he were still waking up at night I’d feed him no matter how old. Lol you do whatever you’re comfortable with!

Do what ever makes you feel is the right thing...if you want to keep feeding him at night then do it.
At 6 months old eating at night its a habit but it doesnt harm...

If you love it I like it but it couldn't be me...haha I had stopped it at 6 months. He adapted after a few nights and was able to sleep right through.
