Tomorrow She’s a week old 💕

I went in on Monday the 6th to be induced at 8am.

This was a decision my doctor and i agreed on due to her size (she was 7 1/2 lbs at my 36 week appointment and my doctor said that because i was small she didn’t want her to get so big that it hurt me, and she considered her full term and agreed it was best to induce) EDIT: *****i was 39 Weeks exactly when i went in to be induced)

All of the nurses were so nice and comforting during the time we were there...

I had a new nurse put my Iv in under the direction of an experienced nurse, but it was still kind of frightening for me because i hate needles, and she was shaking as she stuck it in & now i’ve got a small bruise. The IV was so uncomfortable i was basically begging to get it taken out in postpartum lol.

We first started with some cytotec, which was the little pill they insert in your cervix to soften it up. I was only 1cm still.

I had steady contractions until about 3pm when they said my doctor would come check on me to see what to do next because I hadn’t dilated any.

My doctor gets in around 5pm and says she wants to try the cervidil, the tampon-like medicine that stays in 12 hours. She said if nothing happened within 12 hours we’ll do it again.

I woke up at 2am and had to use the restroom so i woke up my boyfriend and had him unplug me from the machines (the nurses showed us how to do this so i didn’t have to call them in every 30 minutes to help me pee lol) as i flush he opens the door, i stand up and splash! My water breaks.... and keeps breaking. So they take out the cervidil and start the pitocin!

From 2:30 am to 5:30 my contractions got so bad i was sitting up in the bed yelling groaning and crying about how bad it hurt. I eventually gave up my hope for a natural birth and got the epidural. They checked me at 6:30 and i had only progressed to 2-3cm... I have no regrets, within 10 minutes i was pain-free and slept like a baby until 9:30 when they came in to check my cervix.

I (seemingly drunk off the epidural) told the nurse i wouldn’t be surprised if i was still only a 2-3.

She surprisingly goes “Oh well you’re at an 8 friend!”

I was like “are you shitting me?” “Holy crap!”

They then rushed to get my room ready for baby girls arrival. By 11 am they came back to check me again and it was time to practice pushing. I started practicing at 11:30, and by 12:14 Aubrey Grace made her entrance into the world weighing in at 7lbs 10oz, and 20in💕

I only ended up with a first degree tear on my urethra, so i have a few stitches. it doesn’t really burn to pee anymore, but i’m still sore. AER pads and pain/itch spray have been my best friend.

We went home the next day and have been enjoying our time at home since..
