Anyone have pets?

How do I get my 14 month old to stop pulling my cats tail? I feel so bad for my cat. My son wants to play with her, and he does gently pet her, but then when he tries to play he pulls her tail and makes her meow. I tell him no, and I always say “ow, that’ll make kitty cry” but idk what else to do. I also say gentle and show him how to pet her

My niece would do that to their dogs. They just kept correcting her until she learned

If you find out, let me know lol my daughter is obsessed with our cat and basically doesn’t wrestling moves to give him hugs. We have always tried to show her how to be gentle but it hasn’t worked

If my son doesn't listen and hits the dog, we take him away from her. Also lots of praise when he's doing it correctly. She always looks so grateful that we are looking out for her safety.

I tell my baby he can’t play with the cat if he can’t be nice and I move him away from the cat.

I've always told my son to use nice hands whenever he started getting rough with us or our pets. Nice hands is gently petting or something. Hes now two and finally doesnt try getting rough with them. Consistency is key
