Can my 5 month old eat rice cereal?

Looking for some advice I’m young and my mom said she did but I do see a lot of controversy over it. My baby can sit up with help hold head up and 100%%% showing interest in our food.

If you are wanting to feed baby then I would start with Oatmeal and not Rice. Look up studies about rice cereal. Rice cereal has no nutritional value and they found traces of arsenic in it.

Our doctor told us with my first daughter to use a whole grain cereal that was not rice, because it doesn't have real nutrition to it. Honestly I had already chosen to start with Oatmeal anyway just because I like oatmeal so I feel like my babies would 🤣

Rice is fine, but Why not just give baby some soft or puréed food instead? Like if you're eating mashed potato or something, let baby try some. Or purée it with a blender, or mash with a fork. 6 months you can start more serious foods if you do baby led weaning.

I give my son oatmeal mixed with a little bite of fruit and formula with a 4 oz bottle. Hes 5 months now i started at 4 months

I would start with oatmeal instead!! That’s what I did with my Lo! I heard that cereal isn’t very beneficial for babies!

I would wait until your doctor gives you the okay. My baby is 4 months and her doctor cleared her at her 4 month check up.
