Norethindrone & cramping

So three months ago i started the  progestogen only bc pill norethindrone mainly to decrease the length of my period and my period cramping as well. I got my period yesterday and was nearing tears in the fetal position with a heating pad on my stomach because my cramps were so bad. Can anyone taking norethindrone tell me if it has helped you with cramping? I have limited options when it comes to the pill because i have migraines with auras so i can’t have bc with estrogen in it.
