We've been doing Ferber a little over a week and our son still has some tough sleeps but mostly goes down without any fight at all - and before he would not nap AT ALL so it's a MASSIVE improvement. Keep at it!

I didnt want to sleep train him but omg it saved my sanity and made my little one a better baby. He is such a happy boy now that he is sleep trained thanks to using Ferber and personalizing it to my liking. He now sleeps a lot more during the night and only wakes up twice to eat and takes good naps but he has always been an amazing napper. I highly recommend sleep training baby for naps or night sleep. It has made such a difference the first day is the worst and every day it gets better my boy sleep and awake patterns changed around night 4. It was so worth it.

🤷🏽♀️ don’t feel bad. I did it with my oldest but at 5 months and I honestly wish I started earlier. It took a week for him to adjust and he’d cry an hr but of course we checked on him every 5-10 mins. We lost sooooooo much sleep with our oldest, he literally traumatized us. A lot people says it effects them mentally, I don’t think so. My oldest is a very active 7 year old who’s a very respectable A/B honor student. My youngest I started at 4 months 🤷🏽♀️. Took him 3 days to adjust he would cry only for 15 mins tops and again we checked on him every 5-10 mins.

I’m currently doing Ferber and it’s been a complete game changer! My lo sleeps better and longer and so do I! She’s so much happier now that she’s getting more sleep and I feel like a better momma with getting more sleep myself. I know it’s so so hard but it’s worth it! Consistency is definitely key! We did a week of nights and then started with naps. My lo went from having 5-15 min naps to 45 min-1 1/2. Within 2 days she now goes down with a couple mins of crying. But every baby is different so even if it takes a little longer, that’s okay! What helped me a lot was doing something that calms me down in between checks (for me that’s cleaning). You got this and remember you are teaching your lo a very useful skill that is safe 🙂 you got this!

I've been debating letting my son cry it out for naptimes, but I thought maybe he was still a bit too young just being under 5 months old. Not to mention I have a toddler in the next room and don't want to wake her if he has to cry it out at night.

I would go in every 5min and do the same saying and kiss his forehead which I do every time I lay him down for nap and sleep. Did it every time I went in his room. Honestly it would piss him off more sometimes. But you can decide how often you go in there. I made my own rules and guidelines.

I've been told not to pick up but I had to in order to get him to calm down. He barely calmed down and then I put him down and he started screaming again but was asleep in 9 minutes

What do you do to reassure? Pick baby up till they stop crying and then put down again?

I am literally doing the same thing. I feel like I wrote this post lol. Lying on the couch listening to him cry while I cry myself. Just have to keep telling myself he's fed, changed, comfortable, warm, and safe. He will eventually learn to fall asleep. Keep it up, mama! Do whatever you need to do for your baby.

Yeah, I haven't been very diligent with it but I've tried it and it didn't really make a difference. I've ordered the zipadee Zip and should get it in a couple days so we'll see what happens with that

My son slept 50 min. Which is a long nap for him. Once he started crying I took him out thinking he was ready to wake up but now he's asleep in my arms. Have you tried the zin sleep sack? Just got ours last night.

He hasn't. He's never fallen asleep on his own before. I'll probably end up giving up 😣
