Induction due to fluxuating platelets

So I had my 36 week appointment today at 36+5. We found out that I’m 1cm dilated and 50%effaced!

My platelet levels have fluctuated throughout my pregnancy between being low and being on the low end of normal, and my doctor asked me today about inducing sometime in my 39th week to have more control because my platelet levels seem so unpredictable. Has anybody else experienced anything like this? I would definitely prefer to go naturally but I also don’t want to risk general anesthesia for an emergency c section
