Pumping

Stephanie • Wife, RN, Boy Mom 💙 & Girl Mom 🩷

My little guy is a week old today! He had some issues with high bilirubin and jaundice so his first few days he was too tired to nurse effectively. I started pumping as soon as my milk came in and he has been bottle feeding with breast milk great. We are trying to get back to breast feeding now that he has more energy but it's been a little challenging. My question is, by 1 week how much and frequently should he be eating? We are going about every 2-3 hours and he usually eats about 2 oz. Wondering if this is enough or if I should start pumping larger quantities together. He usually seems satisfied but I don't want to underfeed him and have his bilirubin level jump again.
