Breast milk in diaper bag?

How do I travel with breast milk?

I just realized I don’t know how.

I’m a FTM I have a 6 day old. I am pumping my milk and store it in the fridge until I warm it up in a bowl of hot water for him which from home is easy. But how do I do it if I’m gonna go out? We have a doctors appointment tomorrow so we are gonna be out of the house and I’m not sure for how long. After the doctors I have to go to the wic office so it’s gonna be some time before I get home and I don’t want to miss a feeding time.

Do I pump before I leave the house and just place in a bottle and into the diaper bag?does it have to be freshly pumped to stay at room temperature for a few hours?

Can I warm up a bottle at home before I leave and keep that in diaper bag until I need it?

Do I take a bottle from the fridge that I already have premade and place in the insulated pocket inside diaper bag? If so how would I warm up the bottle if we are out? Do I just give it to him the temperature it cooled to?

I would just breastfeed him when we’re out but I still haven’t gotten used to breastfeeding yet so this is just my problem for this first week until I get the hang of everything
