How long does the hospital keep you after vaginal delivery?

I know it’s different but if I have a u complicated vaginal delivery with epidural how long do they monitor us after birth? And how long if we do not get an epidural?

I was kept for 4 days with my first, and 3 days with my second. It just depends on your recovery.

With my first baby I was there for 2 days. Due to Covid, my doctor said the hospital wants healthy Moms and Babies out within 24 hr after delivery.

Where I work, if it’s your first baby or your first time to breastfeed or if your beta strep is positive or if you have a c-section you stay a minimum of two nights. If it’s not your first baby and beta strep negative you can go home after 24 hours for a vaginal delivery

Lots of hospitals are trying to discharge people as soon as possible at the moment. Some people are going home within a few hours of a simple delivery.
