Name change after announcing!?

We’ve known the gender since I was 10w...and included the name, Isla, in our pregnancy announcement! I’m now having cold feet about the name.
My first born had been calling her baby Isla for months..she’s named her dolls baby Isla...I’ve bought monogrammed clothes... idk why the change of heart! Maybe because I’m afraid Isla is becoming too popular?

We changed our minds! Twice!! First we announced Harper Quinn with the gender reveal, then changed it around 30 weeks to Calliope Kay then got frustrated cause family members couldn’t pronounce it or wanted to call her Calli which we were admittedly opposed to. We decided to change her name around 37 weeks and just announced the change when she was born.

I definitely think Isla will be in the top 10 at some point but it is a pretty name! I like it more than Austen.

I don’t really have a preference. But I would say if you’re having second thoughts, do a lot of thinking. Just because you have already announced the name you don’t have to use it. Don’t fall into the trap of feeling stuck. Better to change now than later!!

Isla is definitely on the rise as a name, it’s been in the top 100 now for a couple of years... but I don’t believe it will ever be a top 5 kind of name like Ava for example. I don’t think I could go back and change the name after announcing it to the word lol We’ve decided to keep our name a secret until baby girl is born in case we do change our mind.

We changed our daughters middle name after telling everyone what it was going to be. Who cares if you change your mind. It’s better to do it now then after the baby’s born. I read on here the other day that someone was changing their baby’s name months after he/she was born. I’d rather do it sooner than later.
