Are you still spoon feeding your baby?

I am only giving him the food with the spoon, when it’s proper food. Some snack as for instance fruits I let it on his table and he eats by himself.

Depends on the meal/on his mood etc. I’m glad you asked this though because I had asked a while back and it seemed most people weren’t still spoon feeding and I felt worried because I was still spoon feeding a little. I do as much finger foods as possible but it’s just a lot easier for me to make a big batch of stew/chili type of food and spoon feed him that for one meal a day. I try to preload utensils too but so often my son wants to play with containers/cups/plates etc and will open wide when I come in with a spoon so I know he wants to eat he’s just so interested in playing as well.

Preload the spoon and she hands it to me to refill. She also “uses” utensils on finger food meals that I let her do her thing.

We give him his utensils and let him do as he likes - utensils or hands. If he isn't getting much in I give him bites while he practices.

I still spoon feed my little one mainly because that's the only way she will eat most or all of her food. Snacks she will feed herself like oranges bananas cheese crackers . But food like oatmeal or purees I spoon feed.

My 1 year old feeds herself with a spoon or fork. I just put her plate or bowl in front of her and don’t really have to worry about it from there, she does really good. But I started letting her feed herself at 8 months to get practice.

Yogurt and some purées (especially vegetables) are spoon fed. He eats plenty on his own but I want to make sure he’s getting a variety of nutrients.
