Is it safe to eat canned goods 6+ months past the expired or best by date?
I just went to make a crockpot chili and discovered all the goods needed are well past their date. From April-June 2019. These are things such as:
Black beans
Corn
Garbanzo beans
... would you use these? I want to throw them out, but it seems like such a waste, but I also don’t want to eat expired food. Canned goods already have a super long shelf life so I’m leaning toward throwing them, but not sure. Is it safe to consume after the date? Is the date purely for food quality taste and texture?
