Should refusing services to someone for being rude be more accepted?
Especially in retail, big box companies and food service industries.
Should refusing services to people for being rude be more accepted now?
We read horror stories almost everyday about the customers being total a** to servers and retail associates. I have been working in retail for 4 years now (temporarily laid off due to covid-19), I have also worked in fast food business and a grocery store and I have my fair share of stories dealing with people who think they are entitled to anything and everything. I even had to confront a racist lady while working at a clothing store who was cursing at me in my native language (she didn’t know I speak the language). She called me b***h, a wh***, called my dad a sister fu****. All because I couldn’t accept the coupon she was presenting since it expired 4 months ago. So yeah I was fired from that job, not because I confronted that customer but because I refused to serve her and walked away from counter after calling my manager. The corporate said it was unprofessional of me. 🤔
Well that’s one of the many stories I have. How about you guys? Share your thought!
