Would you disown your child?

Hypothetically speaking, If your child grew up to be a rapist, a murderer, a school shooter etc, someone who is harming others and would spend years or life in prison, would you disown them as your child or would you stay by their side and support them and take their side? This came to my mind because of a movie I watched about a mother dealing with the effects of her son being a school shooter.

Personally I don’t know what I’d do. I don’t have any kids yet but I hope I would raise them to not ever have to be in that situation and that I would teach them to be a good person. But I do believe some people are just psychopaths and it doesn’t matter how they’re raised they will still act that way because of how their brain is wired.
