OB issues?

Question

Anyone else have this problem and know the deal? My primary care dr says I’m good to call and just make an appointment with an OB without needing a referral so i called today to do so and after giving my information I was put on hold then told i needed to “answer a brief questioner for the dr to determine IF he’s going to see me”..? She’s asked how many times I’ve been pregnant, if they were vaginal or Csection, If I’ve had any abortions and how many live births... why does any of that really matter in determining his decision to see me as a patient if I am in fact pregnant now and need to see an OB? They said if I dont hear anything back in 3-5 days to “call them back”.. to me this seems like unnecessary judgmental hoops they’ve got me jumping through.. anyone have advice for me?

Those are all basic prenatal care questions. Those are things they need to know to properly care for you. 
If you have questions about getting care there, call back and ask. Ask about their process for taking on new mommies.

It’s not judgmental hoops, it’s nothing personal just how things are right now. Many providers aren’t seeing patients in the office unless they are very high risk. They may also do phone visits with you until/unless it becomes necessary to see you in the office like for bloodwork etc

Some drs offices only take a limited number of patients due each month because of the number of drs and wanting to be able to handle the caseload of births.  I also ended up moving states at 32 weeks pregnant and some offices wouldn’t take me because of how far along and another because I was high risk.  I had to call around to find a drs office, send them my records, and after they looked at them see if they’d take me on as a patient.  It was a pain but the coronavirus is also affecting things.

I'm not sure that it's because of the virus, but anytime I have started at any doctors office (we've moved and had to get new doctors a few times) those questions are on all my paperwork. Even for GP/PCP. when I went to fill out paperwork for my current obgyn to transition to ob I had to fill out a packet again with that info, even though I did it when I started seeing her as a gyn.

I feel like the Coronavirus has little to do with it.
I had fell pregnant late last year and did the same thing with 2 different offices, called in was put on hold after giving my information asked questions then told I would receive a call back in a few days.. neither dr ever called me back. Unfortunately for me I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks so them never calling back I had just dealt with the after math of it with my primary care dr.. her check ups with making sure I’m good from the miscarriage is how I found out that I’m pregnant again, I’m now 10 weeks along with this pregnancy and seriously wondering if I’ll be able to see a dr anytime soon or if they’re going to use my pay medical history against me

Every office is different. If that’s not something you want to deal with find a different office.
I’ve never dealt with that but like I said; all offices are different
