Randomly not latching now?

So today is day 9. We struggled the first few days but finally fell into a groove. Yesterday she started only taking the nipples despite my trying to get a better latch.  Now both nipples are bruised and extremely painful.  Shes also been cluster nursing and last night she didnt sleep well and was up every hour to hour and a half. My breasts are full so i dont think its that i dont have enough? Help!

When baby is at the breast they can smell that milk and want it - but you need to get their mouth as open as it can get before they latch on - so: get baby in a comfy position (whichever arm is the most for you!) and then with your other hand take your nipple and teaze her mouth with it. I know it sounds strange but trust me, this was the best advice I got from a nurse! Just gently gently move the nipple across her mouth and she will instinctively “root” for it and try to move her head for it annnnnd open her mouth nice and wide!!! Then as soon as you see her mouth is as wide as possible, squeeze your areola between your forefinger and middle finger so that it’s shaped like a rocket and pop it all quickly into her mouth. She should immediately latch well but... and this is a big but... don’t feel bad to try again and again until you both get it right. I remember I’d feel bad having to try for the like 3rd time but then bam! She’d get it on the 3rd time and all would be well. ❤️
You can also try holding her and leaning forward so that your nipples are dangling and pointy and insert then like that - not a great way but I say this because try anything! Like literally anything. Listen to your instincts- we forget that we were literally made for this. Grunt and make animal boises if you need to get in touch with your animal side hehe it’s funny but I’m serious. Listen to your instincts!! They are trying to tell you .. we just need to learn to listen...

Try to wait till her mouth is open wide and sandwich as much of your boob/nipple in there. Sounds and looks weird but it works. Mine always had a great latch but when you and she are tired she’ll go for the easy nipple only and hurt you. Good luck. You’re doing a great job.
