Do I still have a long ways to go?

Question

I’m 36 weeks 1 day and have yet to feel anything! No Braxton Hicks, no slight cramping, no contractions... nothing!!! Does this mean she’s gonna take forever to come? I’m a first time momma so I’m sorry if this is a silly question. I just thought I’d have a few by now.

Well considering you’re full term at 39 weeks and can go over your due date there’s still quite a bit to go. However no one can say. Everyone is different. I had my first at 37 weeks exactly even though i had no Braxton hicks. My second baby i had to be induced. Really there’s no way to say. Babies come on their own, be patient

I barely even notice Braxton Hicks. I’ll just realize on occasion that if I touch it, my belly is hard. And when I was in labor with my first, I was having some contractions that I definitely felt but then they looked at the readout & I was having them every two minutes & not noticing most of them. And I was not dilated nor effaced less than 24 hours before birth while some people spend weeks at a 3+. Birth is weird.

My mom went to her doctors appointment when she was pregnant with my brother and they told her she was in labor. She had nooo idea- no contractions, water didn’t break and she felt really good. She was lucky too because my dad never went to any of the appointments except for this one, and the only reason was because there was a bad snow storm and he didn’t want her driving lol. So no one will be able to say how much longer, but you don’t need to have any symptoms leading up.
