How to get fleas out of carpet?

My dog keeps getting fleas on him. What can I use to get it out the carpet?

Vet tech here. 
Dog HAS to be put on a preventative before even trying to get rid of them. Do not get anything from Walmart and no collars. They don’t work. 
Nexgard is my go to preventative. 
Once you get that under control. Vacuum vacuum vacuum. If it’s a bag take the bag outside and throw it out. If it’s not dump it every time. Wash everything you can in hot water and dry on hot. Flea bomb may be needed

Start by treating your dog with monthly prevention. 
Next, spread diatomaceous earth all over your carpet and couches and dog beds. Vacuum the DE up, and repeat daily as necessary.

Put table salt all over the carpets,let it sit for 15 mins, and then vacume it up, and another thing to do is put bowls of water with a couple drops of original dawn dish soap in it and put it under a night light at night. The fleas jump towards the light and fall into the soapy water and cant get out. You can also use a sticky mouse trap instead of the water but the waters easier to change out daily than a sticky trap

Sprinkle baking soda on the carpet, couch, and baseboards. Let it sit over night and vacuum it up in the morning. It helps break down the flea eggs.

Vacuum daily or 2x daily if you’re able. They make a flea powder to put on carpets to be vacuumed. I’m not sure if it’s pet safe though.
