To Text, or Not to Text - Idk Wth Happened

Went on 1 date w dude, hit it off well. He text all the next day and we made plans for date 2.

Date 2 rolls around and he cancels 2 hours prior saying he "got called into work". Legit or not, Idk. Suppose it could be.

He stalked my IG but I havent heard anything since.

I'm new to the dating game but I feel like if he was interested, he would have text when he got off work or attempted a reschedule at this point. I feel like if I text I'll look too eager. And I'm also wondering if I should cut him loose should he happen to text in the next few days.
