How bad is labor?

Question

My last labor I made it only to a 4cm and it was pretty painful. But I don’t think I ever made it to active labor. I’m considering vbac but want to know what to expect. Thanks ladies

It depends on too many factors. Some women say it’s the worst and others don’t think it’s bad at all.
Read Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth. It’s a really empowering book that tells dozens of real birth stories and talks about natural childbirth.
How you think about labor greatly influences how you experience it. If you go in anticipating it will be horrible, then it will be. 
You need supportive people around you.

It’s definitely no walk in the park lol. I was in labor for 14 hours and I went naturally till I was 9.5cm. 1-10 the pain was a 15 I couldn’t talk just growl and make noise lol. But I hope I get to do it again for another little miracle 💙

For me labor was super easy. I thought it was false labor because
My contracts were never consistent but they were long (some over 2 minutes) finally decided to call my doctor and they had me go in to get checked. I was 5 cm and sent to the hospital. Got checked in and got an epidural before I became too uncomfortable. Delivery was another story. My daughter flipped face up and it took 3 hours of pushing with the assistance of a vacuum to get her out.

It’s actually not the same for everyone. I get back labor which is pretty bad. I tried to get an epidural but it didn’t work. The nurse realized it had slipped out so no wonder it didn’t make a difference. For me, it was pretty bad.

Tbh I fully belive its down to how much pain u can handle everyones pain threshold is different and can cope with pain differently because of it to this day I will hands down still say that a tooth ache is the worst pain I've ever been thru way worse then the pain I felt while i was in labor

It’s not too terribly bad to me. I’ve had 3 inductions and do not get an epidural. The contractions are definitely painful, but I plan to get pregnant again soon so apparently it’s bearable😂

Mine was a breeze. Slept the whole time and pushed him out within 20 minutes 😂 DIDNT feel a thing thanks to the epidural
