My son’s second open heart surgery 😣

So my son had his first open heart surgery when he was one year old. He is now 4 years old and we were supposed to have his surgery March 30th, but it was put off due to the virus. Now that we are flattening the curve they have started rescheduling surgeries. I got a call this past Friday that they have scheduled our son May 11th. THAT WAS NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING TO HEAR. It was just so soon. Ugh. Now we are just barley a week away and I’m a ball of nerves. Children’s Mercy is an AMAZING hospital and I know he’s always in good hands there but I’m just not ready. 😭 I asked what their policy was for parents due to this virus situation and they said that parents can stay during the surgery and can go see him after but only one parent can stay the night, and we can take turns rotating (expected to spend 5-7 days in the hospital). I know will be upset that he won’t have us both there, and it’ll be hard for his siblings (twin brother and 8 year old sister) to not get to see him or have him home.

I’m asking that anyone that is willing, please send prayers for a safe surgery and easy recovery.
