Im wondering what you all are doing, who are getting married during covid right now, to attain a marriage license? Was there an issue to find one? How do you go about the process of getting it? When do you get it in comparison to when you get married? Does a witness need to be along? Are there a lot of papers to sign,  etc.   Thank you everyone!!❤

my county is actually doing virtual marriage licenses! basically a zoom call and they mail you the certificate after.
other counties in my state are only doing marriage licenses for EMERGENCIES only (military, benefits, etc).

In my area it’s just the soon-to-be husband and wife who go to the courthouse to obtain a marriage license. We just have to show our ID and fill out the paperwork. It should usually be done within 30 days of your planned wedding date. Check with your local courthouse of where your wedding will be held to find out their requirements because it could be different for certain areas.
