Abusive boyfriend?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a few months and we live together. I’ve noticed sometimes when we goof around he ends up hurting me some how. I’m pretty tough and I know that things happen. He’s in the military so he’s strong, but I’m a lot smaller than him. (6’1 , 150 lbs - 5’0, 100 lbs).

He has two brothers and I feel like he treats me like one of them when we play around. He likes to head butt, and I hate it. I’ve said something about this but it still happens. He said he’s not a filthy man who would put hands on a women (he knows about my rape in the past). One time when he tried to head butt me I pushed his head away and he was very confused.

Due to these head butts I’ve had a bruised cheekbone, nose, and chin. He’s also “accidentally” punched my knee which is bruised and swollen.

Every time he does these things he laughs. Is he laughing at my pain?!

My mom had said something to me saying it might be physical abuse. I don’t know how I feel about this. Cause it only happens when we play around. But I do know I deserve to be treated more respectfully.

I love him too much to leave. I’m not sure what to do.
