Very light spotting instead of period?? Confused..

Just a little back story, I stopped taking birth control in November 2019. I was on it for a year due to the fact I had went 6 months without a period. Ever since I quit taking it, my periods have been completely normal and on time. Until now.. AF was due yesterday/today, but 5 days ago I started spotting, thinking it was my period starting early. But its never turned into a period. For 5 (almost 6) days I have had very light spotting that never requires a tampon, and hardly even needed a panty liner; it’s just there when I wipe.. Has anyone else experienced this?? My body is confusing me..
