Cervix exam.. does it hurt?

I’m getting one done at the end of this month I think at 35 weeks and I’ve heard it can hurt 😖 does it?? I worry cause at 12 weeks (my last exam) she said I have a sensitive cervix. I know I’m allowed to tell her no, but I want to make sure the baby is head down and that everything looks good!

It’s uncomfortable, but I wouldn’t call it painful. 
You also reserve the right to decline, I personally  opt out of the weekly cervical checks.

It’s uncomfortable but not painful. My first I had the checks weekly and the second I did the 36 week (because they were doing the group b strep test anyway) and then declined at the other visits

No, the only time it hurt was during labor but at that point everything hurt

I had my first ever check at 36 weeks and it was uncomfortable & unpleasant. Painful? Not so much. But it definitely didn’t feel great. I also bled after.
Have my 37 week appt this afternoon and another check so we will see if it is less uncomfortable now that I know what to expect.

It didn’t hurt me! Pap smears are more uncomfortable in my opinion

Its uncomfortable but not painful. Well with my first pregnancy it was because she was rough, so I was scared to with my second pregnancy. And I told my doc and nurse. As long as they are gentle and you relax it's not painful

It’s uncomfortable because they shove their hand/fingers up high but it doesn’t hurt.

Mine did but with both of my pregnancies my cervix was really high up and closed every time. My OB had to really reach up there to check it. It was more uncomfortable than painful. You'll be fine!
