Weird IUD cramping

Hello IUD-havers! I got my skyla implanted in November, and my cycle has pretty much gone back to normal. I love it so much, but the cramping is a bit... weird? 1-3 days before my period starts, I’ll get really strong, intense cramping for maybe 6 hours, and then no cramps during the actual period. I called my gyno, and she said it was a bit unusual, but not a cause for concern, especially since my iud hasn’t moved (just got it checked via ultrasound in early April). Prior to having my iud placed, I never experienced this, and had horrible cramps all throughout my period.

My question is, are there others who also experience this? Or am I just a lonely weirdo LOL
