How would you describe labor pain?

Question

My son is head down and has been punching me or maybe head butting me in the cervix. It causes me a sharp and uncomfortable pain when he does it. (36 weeks) 
I am wondering if labor is more like that or more like really intense cramps?? 
Like would you describe it as more sharp or more achy? 
Asking just for reference. I think I could handle intense achy cramps but it if it is sharp pain like that sign me up for an epidural 🤣

For me, it was more like intense cramps until the end - that’s when it was sharp pain right in the vagina as baby was crowning!

Mine were definitely very sharp period cramps. I remember saying “why is this so sharp?! I could handle this if it wasn’t so sharp!” during nearly every contraction lol. I said the same exact thing as you, if it’s just aching I can handle it but if it’s sharp I’m getting an epidural. I had one by the time I was 5 or 6 cm. Most people I asked said it wasn’t sharp for them though so I’m guessing it’s not as common

I would say mine were similar to period cramps. Obviously they were so much worse but that was kinda what I felt sharp and aching

It's very painful but if you have been Pregnant before you know what to expect. I would NEVER wish this pain on my enemy's!!!

Sharp vibrating pain that radiates to your hips and back that is consistent for 45 seconds. Similar to the burning pain of a cut (for me anyway). 
This pregnancy I gave learned of what's called Lightning crotch syndrome... It's a sharp pain like contractions from the pressure of baby on a nerve at the cervix!  If it's not rhythmic that would be my guess.
