Moving states away from family?

Question

We live in Ohio and my husband has a job opportunity in Charleston South Carolina. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant and we have a 1.5 year old. The problem is both of our families live here in Ohio. Has anyone moved away from family support with young children  or have any advice? We both have very good relationships with our parents and my mom is like my best friend so it would be incredibly difficult for us. He is debating turning the job down to stay close to family. On the other hand we have always wanted to move south and Charleston would be a dream...

Girl go ohio is turning into shit! Fellow Ohioan here and we’ve been looking for about a year to move out of state next year but our families are here but way we look at it is. We can’t stay some where because people are here. We want to move to better area better schools better opportunities for us and our children. I refuse to make life decisions based on other people . We can always visit family or them come see us. 🤷🏻‍♀️.

My son was 5 months old when we moved. We lived in Indiana and moved all the way to Georgia on Christmas Day 2016 and I tell
You, it was scary just to tell them as I was packing the house and we got everything loaded up and when we finally said our goodbyes and hit the road it was such a amazing free awesome exciting feeling! I loved it! I love our family, but I tell you it was so beautiful so different so exciting! I didn’t work the first year of living there so we could get settled and hubby focused on work! But the following year I went out and worked and my son went to a daycare that he made friends and he loved it! We have a great schedule! It’s amazing! But definitely do what your heart tells you. Some days you will get home sick and some days will
Be hard so just make sure it’s what you both want! Best of luck!

I am very close to my family and if the right job is offered somewhere warm, I have no question that moving 3,000 miles is the right choice 🤷🏼‍♀️

Husband left from Toledo, and myself from Ontario to Georgia. Nice short inexpensive flight. We have no one out here but we're loving it and it was for a job aswelll. Glad we decided to go

My husband snd I DREAM of moving out of state although we would be away from both our families. We already feel as though we live far from family (his parents in TX my family is 35 min away which isn’t really far but far enough we don’t have immediate support if needed) and we feel comfortable living independently with little family support. We have learned to put trust in our good friends and our community! We look every week for out of state jobs...

My husband and I moved from Ohio to Texas a year ago because I’m in the Army. Don’t have children yet but I am VERY close with my family. It’s hard being away from them, especially my little nieces. But with FaceTime it’s very doable. I miss them but we also love where we live now. 
However we have talked and know we want to move back to Ohio eventually to be closer to family while our kids grow up. Another thing to consider because you have kids is childcare- do they often help babysit? If so, losing that extra help may be a big hit. 
 Basically it’s been a great move and I’m glad to be where we are,  but we have plans to move back because we really want our kids to grow up around their grandparents and cousins. You just have to weigh the pros and cons and no one knows the right decision!
