When will my preemie come home?

I know theirs not straight answer for this. She was born at 29 weeks and she’s breathing by herself and regulating her temp. We just haven’t started eating yet and she still occasionally has drops in heart rate and oxygen. She’s now 33 weeks. Any estimates or when did your babies come home?

My 34 weeker came home after 23 days. He had to take his feedings without the tube.

My baby was born at 34 weeks and she came home after 2 weeks. The biggest thing we were waiting for is that she was able to take all her feedings without a feeding tube. She would get tired out from sucking a bottle or breast, which is very common and expected for babies born then. It's possible once your baby gets to eating, the same thing will happen.

They usually say not to expect baby to come home until around their due date when born that early but some babies do shockingly well so come home sooner.  I hope that’s the case for you guys!!  They need to be able to stabilize their body temp on their own, take all their feedings on their own - it’s possible to go home tube fed if they don’t see things improving, make sure baby is growing well, etc.
