Do you test the day your period is supposed to come or the day after?

My period is 5 days late as of today. I tested yesterday and I got a paint positive. So I plan to re-test at the end of the month. So I don’t drive myself crazy.
Based on my last period I would be 4 weeks right now..

I tried to wait until a week after it was due but I gave up after being two days late when I got my bfp

I always wait till the day after. Whenever I test and my period ends up coming like an hour later or something that’s just the worst.
