Should I be concerned?

Hi! My son has two red marks on his outer thigh and I’m just wondering if it’s worth a trip to the pediatrician. Has anyone experienced this before? At first I thought it was a reaction to his 6 mo vaccines, but it’s not going away and showed up in two places. Sometimes it’s more red than other times. I tried the google machine, and it doesn’t *seem* like ringworm because it’s not raised around the edges. But maybe it is? Could it be eczema? Thoughts?

Looks like eczema, we had this in the same spot on both thighs and arms. Went to the dr thinking it was ringworm, but was told it was eczema. I didn’t know eczema could look like ringworm, but apparently it can. We put aquaphor on the spots twice a day and it was cleared up in about a week.

Thank you all! With COVID-19 I didn’t want to make any additional trips to the pediatrician. I will keep moisturizing it heavily and just keep and eye on it. You helped put my mind at ease.

We have these too on LO, husband thought it was ringworm since he got it a lot when he was younger and LO sweats at night on her back. But ped confirmed via photos that it’s eczema, recommended Vaseline/oil/hydrocortisone. We used aveeno lotion too and it’s going away steadily!

My daughter had this. The actual term is Nummular Eczema. My doctor prescribed an ointment to apply twice a day to the affected area. Triamcinolone is what was prescribed.

I'd say eczema over ring worm, too. Ring worm has more of a raised ring around the border. Eczema looks more scaly/dry.

Also agree looks like eczema. My LO has it I use baby aquarphor and its working wonders!
