When you’re pregnant and find out your own mom is sick

Trigger warning: cancer, parent illness

My mom found out yesterday that she has lymphoma. She’s healthy, young (only 69), and has never had medical issues. We are all in shock and devastated. We know nothing about diagnosis, type, or staging...only that it’s there. If you are the praying type, I would be honored if you would pray for my mom. Her name is Sherry, and she is the kindest, sweetest, most selfless person you’ll ever meet. God will know who you’re speaking of when you say her name!!!

Specifically, we are praying that her current pain levels be reduced and that she can rest. We also pray that somehow, the mass is miraculously benign! From there, if it is malignant, which the doctor believes, that it is contained and isolated to her abdomen where they found the mass. And that no matter what, that whatever this is is treatable, and that she will be HEALED.
