Induction tips?

So I just found out due to blood pressure they will be inducing 37 weeks. Anybody have some tips? I’m a first time mom so obviously scared!

Don’t get an epidural until the very last minute. I got my epidural too early and i was bed-ridden for hours. I also think it prevented my baby from descending properly which probably contributed to my third-degree year. I advise you to labor upright for as long as possible

I was induced and I was so scared. It was not bad at all. Some things I did were when I got there I ordered food from cafeteria. If they allow you to eat, eat light foods , turkey sandwich, fruit , this sounda gross but eat foods that won’t be terrible to throw up just in case. I had the lights dim , tv on , a fan by me , and my husband rubbing my back. Sleep as often as possible and drink LOTS of water . Breathe calmly and think positive . Also I brought pillows from home . I heard that music is pretty calming also. I got an epidural idk what your plans are with that but I loved mine. It’s a little scary getting it done but that’s when I had to just calm my mind and it helped so much

I was induced for the same reason. Biggest tip is to stay out of the bed! Laying down made me feel contractions but bouncing on the ball and doing lunges with my nurse took the pain away totally. I didn’t even need an epidural and was pitocin induced.

I was induced at 37 for choleostasis, they had me do the birthing ball and peanut a lot I hated it and was super uncomfortable but I think it helped. I got there not even a fingertip dilated, started cervadil and it made me contract too fast so they took it out, started pitocin and foley balloon, got stuck at 4cm and got the epidural immediately dilated to 7cm and then I chilled out with the pillow between my legs. Felt loads of pressure called the nurse and we pushed for like 15 minutes I didn’t feel anything no stitches baby was 5lb 14 oz so tiny omg I felt great after could almost walk by myself after a couple hours.

Just don’t be scared. People make inductions out to be scary but it’s really just some medicine giving your body a little boost to do what it knows how to do.
My induction was great (also induced for high BP). It was my second so I know that one is usually easier but I preferred the induction over having my first the “normal” way.

Can I ask what your BP has been? 
I’m currently 33 weeks with my first and they have mentioned induction at 37 weeks if my BP does not lower but I don’t feel like mine is that crazy high. 
My average is mid 130’s over mid 80’s. 
My top number has been up in the 160’s and bottom has never been above 92.

This is my situation right now and being induced this week.

They hooked me up and I regret never asking if I could just walk around or bounce on a ball etc. I only ever got up to go pee real quick and didn’t even bother asking if it was okay if I could stand or sit or try any sort of different position. Don’t forget to ask like I did! I think I would have been able to hold out longer (didn’t want an epidural but I got one after they broke my water and I was only 3 cm dilated) if I thought about asking to move around or change positions.

It can take a while.  Brings things to keep you occupied.  Also get sleep when you can and if you are choosing an epidural make sure you eat before you get it since you can’t eat after.
