So frustrated

So I've been having relatively weak contractions since last night. I saw my midwife today so she checked my cervix. I'm 1-2cm dilated (that's nothing!) and my cervix is medium (not hard but not soft). I'm basically sitting on the edge and could progress into active labour or could be having uncomfortable and sporadic contractions for another week or so. The midwife said if she had to guess baby would be here by Friday. That feels so soon. I want a crystal ball! Anyone else sitting in labour limbo? 38 weeks today!
