Exercising when pregnant

I know this has been asked a hundred times but i have not worked out intensely (weights, boxing etc) for about 9 months. I am 8 weeks pregnant and although i do light walking and such i don't think it'll be a good idea to go back into what I was doing 9 months ago as I feel it would cause problems.

I am planning on talking to my doctor but just wanting some opinions.
