Transferring to midwife/home birth

Has anyone transferred to a midwife and decided to do a home birth at 30+ weeks?

So I started out at the hospital that was closet to me and I felt like they didn't know what they were talking about things kept getting messed up and I was made to feel like an idiot so I transferred to a hospital about an hour away and things were good but then we moved so I'm trying the doctors there and the few doctors I met have zero compassion or bedside manner.

I'm thinking its time to try a midwife. What was your experience with a midwife? Is there anything I should look out for? Please tell me the good the bad and the ugly
